Terms of service
The agreement between you and Grove, written to be read once and understood — not to be scrolled past.
Last updated July 27, 2026The short version
- Grove is software you rent. The data you put in it stays yours.
- The assistant cannot change anything without a person approving it first.
- Use it lawfully, do not attack it, and do not resell it.
- Leave whenever you like, and take your data with you.
01
What Grove is
- Inventory, purchasing, invoicing and bookkeeping software, with an assistant on top that can read your data and answer questions about it.
- It runs in a browser. There is nothing to install and nothing to back up yourself.
- It is early. Features move, and some of them will change under you.
02
Your account
- You need an account, and what happens under it is your responsibility.
- Keep your password to yourself, and tell us quickly if it gets out.
- Anyone you invite into your workspace can see the whole workspace. Invite deliberately.
- One login per person. Sharing a seat is the one thing that quietly breaks the audit log.
03
Your data stays yours
- You own everything you put into Grove. We claim no rights over it.
- The only permission you give us is the one needed to run the service: store it, process it, and show it back to you.
- You can export it whenever you like, and take it with you if you leave.
04
What the assistant is not
- It is a tool that reads your data and writes queries. It is not an accountant, a lawyer, or a tax adviser.
- It can be wrong. Check anything you are about to file, pay, or ship on.
- It cannot change your data on its own — every write waits for a person to approve it.
- Approving a proposal is your decision, and the result is yours too.
05
Fair use
- Do not use Grove to break the law, or to hold someone else's data without their permission.
- Do not attack, probe, or overload the system, and do not go looking for another workspace.
- Do not resell Grove, or copy it out from the inside.
- We can suspend an account that does these things, and we will tell you why.
06
Uptime and support
- We work to keep Grove available, and while it is this early we do not promise a specific number.
- Maintenance happens. We give notice where we can, and keep it out of working hours where we cannot.
- Support is by email, answered by the people who build it.
07
Money
- You see a price before anything is charged, and nothing starts charging without you agreeing to it.
- If a price changes, we tell you first and it applies from your next term.
- Cancel whenever you like. Access runs to the end of the term you already paid for.
08
Where the limits are
- Grove is provided as it is. We cannot warrant that it fits every purpose you might have for it.
- We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability is capped at what you paid us in the previous twelve months.
- Nothing here removes a right the law gives you that cannot be signed away.
- These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA.
09
Ending it
- Close your account whenever you want, from settings or by email.
- Export first. After deletion it is gone, including from our backups on their normal cycle.
- We can end an account for the reasons under Fair use, or if we shut the service down — with notice, and time to get your data out.
10
When these change
- Every version is dated, and the current one is always here.
- Anything material gets an email before it takes effect.
- Continuing to use Grove after that means the newer version applies.
Something here unclear?
Ask, and a person will answer. If a plain-language version of any clause would help, we will write one.
